Somatic Support
Creating the space your nervous system needs to heal, integrate, and reconnect.
Your body carries the imprint of your life experiences—both the difficult and the joyful. Somatic support works with your body’s natural responses to help release stress, restore balance, and build resilience. By gently tuning into your body’s cues, you can shift out of survival mode and into a steadier, more connected way of being.
What Is Somatic Support?
Somatic Support is about listening to your body’s cues, gently unwinding stored tension, and helping your system process what it couldn’t before. We work in the here and now, using body-based awareness, gentle movement, and nervous system regulation tools—not just talking about what’s happening—to help you feel safer and more at home in yourself. This approach is especially helpful when words aren’t enough, or when you’ve “understood” your experiences logically but still feel the effects in your body.
How Somatic Support Works
Sessions are paced to meet you and your nervous system where you are, allowing you to explore and release stored stress safely and at your own rhythm. We focus on your body’s natural wisdom, helping it complete experiences that were previously stuck and supporting your nervous system to integrate those shifts.
Depending on your needs, we may incorporate:
Somatic Experiencing® techniques – gentle, body-first approaches to release held survival stress.
Polyvagal-informed practices – simple, science-backed exercises to support regulation and connection.
Mind-body awareness – tuning into sensations, breath, and movement to increase self-regulation.
Somatic Support is a collaborative process, not forced. You remain in charge of your experience, and the work unfolds safely, at a pace your system can trust.
Why This Approach Is Different
While Nervous System Support lays the foundation for regulation, somatic work goes deeper—working with the body to release held tension, shift long-standing patterns, and integrate experiences that have been stuck.
This work isn’t about reliving the past or forcing change. Instead, it’s about gently guiding your body to complete what it couldn’t before, helping you feel more grounded, connected, and at ease in your daily life.
With Somatic Support, you:
Engage directly with bodily sensations and responses
Learn practical, body-led tools to manage stress and improve self-regulation
Address patterns that may have been resistant to talk therapy alone
Move toward deeper emotional and physiological integration
When Somatic Support Might Be the Right Next Step
This deeper work may be helpful if you:
Have tried talk therapy and found that it didn’t work or didn’t fully address the physical or emotional effects of stress and trauma
Experience tension, pain, or fatigue without a clear medical cause
Struggle with discomfort, or “stuck” sensations in your body even when life seems calm
Notice old stress or trauma patterns affecting your emotions, energy, or focus
Struggle to feel present, grounded, or connected in daily life
Want to learn body-based tools to increase resilience, self-regulation, and overall wellbeing
Have a history of trauma that still impacts your daily life
